Hi, I have no yet seen CKP in local Lantis engine (B6-DE nor BP-ZE), but I know that BP-ZE & Z5-DE in USA got CKP, you can refer to M/Z Protege in US market.

Cam Shaft Position Sensor is built in/integrated in our distributor.

tq verymuch alex,

actually i have problem with my lantis, he don't want to start.

the engine can crank but when i check the spark plug there is no spark and the fuel pump also no working but when i make a direct connection to batt its working (fuel pump).

I 've asked my friend he told me maybe it cause by CKP or CMP...

u are right poon...i've check my car's ecu and i see a little burn mark on the circuit board.

so i think the problem is cause by ecu and i need to find a new ecu, if you have this BMV9 18 881C please pm me.

Dear B6 & B8 Lantis owners,

As our lovely cars' are all above 10 y.o., it's normal for the ecu kaput, pewai, or kong-kali-kong... So if any of u guys, that r still on the road with yr old ecus, pls do service them... the reason for this problem was due to a few factors that most of us has little time or never have time to service them...

1. your alternator - 10 years already, off course the carbon & especially the crucial IC inside yr alternator will kaput. If kaput the voltage is not going to be stable at all (even u have installed the voltage stabilizer). The sharp voltage rise will definitely kaput yr sensitif chips in yr ECUs.

2. your battery - when yr alternator kaput, yr battery will no longer performs to it optimum (even if u change the battery alot of times).

So guys, pls check & service yr alternator ya... before u got headache with yr ecu...

i encounter the same problem..

the fuel pump was not working, but it work when connected directly to batt. but i guess the pump was weak n replaced it..and it work, the engine can start. but when the aircondition is on..most of the time the engine will shut down after a while ..why?? should i worried about my ECU?? alternator?

(the engine work just fine if the acc is off)

here's what i've done so far

1) plug cable - replaced with an original cord from a twinhead engine

2) broken air host - replaced. replaced the air filter too

3) fuel pump - replaced

what should i do next? where should i look..
