@William, no more year end sale like C&C does ahh?....aiyor; there goes my Mazda5. =P
@icyd, 2k inclusive of parts?
@Jason, wanting a family car ler...you'll understand when you get married. With the price difference between 5 & 6, I rather get the 5 which is more comfy for those who seats at the back. 6, a lot is complaining about the suspension which is stiffer.
Btw, when getting married, hehehe

Tukar aje V6... so many guys here can help u lar.. Just go for it man..! Nowadays girls r brave enuf to buy continental car without knowing anything about cars... If tamau KF-ZE find la FS-ZE... same power & cc, one is V6 the other one is 4-cylinders.
THINKING OF ANOTHER TRANSPLANT.... LOWERING CC TRANSPLANT
FS is harder to find ler......no ahh?
If FS, better look for tubo kekeke

after timbang2 options,i think i'll change to 1.8 only.v6 costs 7k++ 1.8 only slightly above 2k.the remaining can refurbish my interior, change bushings etc.what u guys think?1.8 engine not to bad rite?i dont drive gila2 just appreciate driving comfort.speaking of comfort, who wanna swap mazdaspeed shocks with my gab adjustable?this one too bumpy for me
Well my friend, it's up to the owner lah which engine he/she wants to convert. Nowadays FS engine is coming to malaysia & its getting more & more every shipment. It's like KFZE last time where u find it very rare but nowadays its plentyful & I pun dah jemu dah using one...
Why I recommend that engine was that it has simpler engine mechanism than of a V6 with long term maintenance cost about similar as the normal BA1.8L engine & cheaper than the rival Honda engine such as B18A/C & H22A.
FS engine has a few type beginning with NA version of FS-DE (the normal one), FS-ZE (mcm KF-ZE lar) and the turbo of FS-DET.

Well my friend, it's up to the owner lah which engine he/she wants to convert. Nowadays FS engine is coming to malaysia & its getting more & more every shipment. It's like KFZE last time where u find it very rare but nowadays its plentyful & I pun dah jemu dah using one... FS is my next project swapping coz it cost half the maintenance of the V6, although i still can affort it.
The key to FS engine success was simplicity & fewer moving engine parts which made it quicker response than the KF series. It has few types beginning with NA version of FS-DE (the normal one), FS-ZE (mcm KF-ZE lar) and the turbo of FS-DET. The FS-ZE & FS-DET was made for Mazdaspeed tuning spec. The different between FS-DE & FS-ZE are the DE code has very-very standard engine parts that produces 150hp only while the ZE code has a stage 2 exhaust & intake twin camshaft, lightened flywheel, Mazdaspeed re-programmed ECU unit, bigger injectors & different gear ratios that produces Japan spec +/-200hp only (different country got different hp). The FS-DET got more TORQUE pawer lah & it uses Garret seramic ball bearings turbines (turbine size same as B8-180) that produces 200hp only. If yr tangan more 'gatal-er', just chance to an impreza turbines...surely produces up to 280hp & even more if properly tuned.
Why I recommend that engine was that it has simpler engine mechanism than of a V6 with long term maintenance cost about similar as the normal BA1.8L engine & cheaper than the rival Honda engine such as B18A/C & H22A. And the engine mounting screw stands are the same as the normal BA & KF spec engines. So can use in a Lantis lar. There is also a FP-DE which is a 1.8L engine. The differences compared to the FS-DE are it uses smaller capacity cylinder block, smaller injectors & detuned ECU aje... the rest is the same.
But then, you have made yr choice with the KF-ZE.. so gud luck lar. Tepuk the dada & tanya your selera lah...

Bro my personel ad is just change the v6 engine. That engine is very smooth and nice to drive.fc also not bad.i use to drive a mazda 626 v6(cronos) and a Ford TX -5 v6 manual before.realy superb power and smoothness in that engine.Murali also knows me cause i use to send my TX-5 there eventhough i m from ipoh.Just go for it and u wont have regrets..cheers.....
How much is the FS DET compare to the BPT ? Is this a direct swap to the lantis ? Aiyah.. also ah.. where to get cheap halfcut for Mazda ah ? I called my usual halfcut shop said that mazda halfcuts very hard to find woh... also expensive. any advise ah ?

The FS-DET engine here in Malaysia is being use by Ford Lynx RS 2.0 (low pressure turbine). In Japon & elsewhere in the world it's been used by 323 Familia/Protege as Mazdaspeed spec engine... So do the FS-ZE spec.. Floor engine or "enjin lantai" cost around 1.8k-2.5k & the full halcut is about 3.5k-6k... all depends on which chopshop u find it. The mountings locations are as the same as lantis, & please use the V mounting as it can handles more torque. The usual raw converting that have been done was fixing a normal FS-DE found in the later 323 Familia/protege, 626 & Premacy & turboed it with the help of piggy-back engine management or stand alone ECU... Start finding elsewhere outside KL/S'gor... maybe in Pahang or at the Northern region where Mazda still has strong followers there.
Happy engine hunting...

bro yeop joe,
is fs-ze engine already available in malaysia market? check the spec already. looks interesting.

FS-ZEs 2.0L are already available in Malaysia... They came here as standard JDM spec either manual or automatic tranny. U can recognize it easily with its conspicuous Black Cover on top of its intake manifold's throttle body. The normal FS-ZE JDM standard spec engine produces 162hp @ 6800rpm, while the uprated Mazdaspeed version produces 170hp @ 6800rpm and the redline is between 7000-7500rpm depending on normal or mazdaspeed model.
FS-ZE engine is still quite expensive as the halfcut price of any model using this type of engine starts FROM 5.5k to 9k... still depending on what model and which chopshop u go... If u need a cheap version, just find the "enjin lantai" that has all complete wiring plus the ECU, driveshafts & brakes.
There's another engine which is also good & exiciting... the ZL-VE 1.5L that produces 130ps (128hp) @ 7000rpm. What makes this engine so interesting, when pulling some power up to 5000rpm it produces the "aircraft howling" sound that normally synonimous with the VTECs from Honda. The VE means Variable Valve Timing & it's a B16A killer lah...
THINKING OF ANOTHER TRANSPLANT.... LOWERING CC TRANSPLANT

bro no need to be scared...rather than overhaul your old engine, spend a bit more and shop for a V6 halfcut. then you can still start the engine and see the condition of the engine, furthermore the fc is nearly as same as your 1.6 and the power...my opinion only....
